چکیده

The problem of stabilization of a force-reflecting telerobotic system in presence of time delay in the communication channel is addressed. We introduce an approach that is based on application of the input-to-output stability (IOS) small gain theorem for functional differential equations (FDEs). A version of the stabilization algorithm as well as its two adaptive extensions are proposed. For all these control schemes, the input-to-state stability (ISS) of the overall telerobotic system is guaranteed in the global, global practical, or semiglobal practical sense for any constant communication delay under the assumption that the environmental dynamics satisfy a weak form of finite-gain stability property. As an intermediate step, we formulate and prove a general IOS (ISS) small gain result for FDEs. 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Delay-dependent stability for transparent bilateral teleoperation system: an LMI approach

There are two significant goals in teleoperation systems: Stability and performance. This paper introduces an LMI-based robust control method for bilateral transparent teleoperation systems in presence of model mismatch. The uncertainties in time delay in communication channel, task environment and model parameters of master-slave systems is called model mismatch. The time delay in communicatio...

Bilateral Teleoperation Systems Using Backtracking Search optimization Algorithm Based Iterative Learning Control

This paper deals with the application of Iterative Learning Control (ILC) to further improve the performance of teleoperation systems based on Smith predictor. The goal is to achieve robust stability and optimal transparency for these systems. The proposed control structure make the slave manipulator follow the master in spite of uncertainties in time delay in communication channel and model pa...

The Generalized Scattering Transformaton for Stable Teleoperation with Communication Unreliabilities

A teleoperation system allows the human to manipulate in remote/inaccessible/dangerous or scaled environments. From a control point of view, the haptic control loop, where motion and force data are exchanged between the master and the slave manipulator, is very challenging as it is closed over a communication network, e.g. the Internet. The communication network introduces unreliabilities such ...

A Small Gain Framework for Networked Cooperative Teleoperation

A small gain approach for stability analysis of cooperative network-based force reflecting teleoperator systems is presented. The approach is based on a new version of inputto-output stability (IOS) nonlinear small gain theorem that is applicable to stability analysis of large-scale network-based interconnections. Using the small-gain theorem presented, we show that stability of the cooperative...

Discrete-time Linear Quadratic Gaussian Control for Teleoperation Under Communication Time Delay

Prior relevant research in bilateral teleoperation has mainly yielded control algorithms that sacrifice performance in order to guarantee robust stability in the presence of communication latency. In contrast, in this paper we propose a multimodel predictive-type control approach based on the discrete-time linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control that delivers a stable transparent response in th...
